ABOUT COLLEGE TRACK TUTORING

Mara's approach to college admissions counseling

My job is to make the college application process as easy and stress-free as possible for students and parents. I am available to assist with everything, including generating appropriate college lists, creating extracurricular activity resumes, and writing effective essays. I work on applications directly with students, keeping track of all deadlines and required documents.

COLLEGE COUNSELING

Students are introduced to college, major, and career options so we can create a tailored plan for them to achieve their academic goals. We develop a course plan, testing timeline, and activity resume so students can present themselves in the best possible light when it's time to fill out college applications.

APPLICATION MANAGEMENT

I provide hands-on assistance with the  completion and submission of all applications and supplemental requirements – letters of recommendation, essays, interviews, and test scores. Students and parents have access to personal application trackers that are updated with progress, deadline, and password information.

SAT & ACT PREP

Students' SAT and ACT scores are critical in the college admissions process. In our SAT and ACT sessions, I provide comprehensive concept review in addition to test-taking tips and strategies. Test prep programs are tailored to accommodate each student's strengths and weaknesses. I can also help determine which test is better suited for each student.

We are writing to let you know how fortunate we were to find Mara Mariani to provide tutoring, SAT prep and college counseling to our high school senior. We cannot tell you how strongly we were impressed by Mara’s ability to connect with our son and teach him math/reading/comprehension skills to better equip him for success in taking the SAT. Further, you will know exactly what materials were covered in each tutoring session and how your student is performing in practice questions/tests from the emails that Mara sends to parents with detailed notes from each session. Beyond SAT prep, Mara worked with our son in researching and identifying colleges that both provided a pre-law/criminology major and Spanish minor and paid attention to students in need of classroom accommodations. She then helped us determine which schools would be the best fit for his level of achievement, grades/SAT scores and most importantly, his personality. We could not possibly give a stronger endorsement and would be happy to speak directly with any parent to provide a professional reference for Mara’s outstanding aptitude and level of service.
